Remember & Share: Martyn Jones

Thank you to Martyn Jones for sending in these images of his mother, Mary Legge Jones nee Partridge, at Hotel Jerbourg which was built by his great Grandfather, Mr D L Partridge on the site of Graysons Farm.

Mr D L Partridge unfortunately passed away in 1941 after having reluctantly handed over Hotel Jerbourg to German occupiers. Martyn's Grandfather, P D Partridge continued to farm Graysons Farm land throughout the occupation.

P D Partridge regained possession of the hotel, which had been left derelict, but shortly after had to sell it in an effort to restock the farm land.

Pictured is Martyn's mother, Mary Legge Jones, nee Partridge who has many memories of the War including May 9th 1945.
