The lecture follows its formation, recall of serving soldiers and training as only French speaking unit of the British Army, and their own journey to France. We discover their part in the Battle of Cambrai in 1917, holding the line in Masnieres in late November despite horrendous losses, the fight at the battle of Lys in 1918 and guarding the King before returning home in 1919 after the war had ended. We also discover the losses to the island and this lecture is also likely to also appeal to families and relatives of the men who served and includes a section on how to locate your ancestor.
