St Peter Port's Liberation Day celebrations have been finalised, with the full programme now available on the Liberation Day website.
The morning commences with the Liberation 7 Road Race, which celebrates its 80th anniversary this year. Athletes from the Guernsey Athletics Club will start the race at 9am running from Rousse to North Beach.
This year marks the 60th anniversary of the unbeaten course record set by the late Dave Kreckeler in 1966 of 34 minutes, 39 seconds.
As athletes set off from Rousse for the seven-mile course, a younger generation of runners will take part in the annual schools' relay along the seafront, also starting at 9am.
Following the morning's races, islanders will be able to enjoy and participate in a variety of activities across the St Peter Port seafront from 11am until late.
Between the Weighbridge and Crown Pier, there will be a dance zone featuring performances from local groups, and new for this year, the Aztech inflatable football pitch where people can test their skills.
Deputy Andy Cameron, Vice-President of the Committee for Education, Sport & Culture and Liberation Day Lead for the Committee for Education, Sport and Culture, said:
"The programme for St Peter Port is really varied, and I want to thank those involved in coming together on such an important day for our community."
Crown Pier will have plenty for families to do this Liberation Day as part of the designated children's zone, including a craft tent run by Trinity Church, the UpClimbing wall, go-karts, face painting and even some Royal Golden Guernsey Goats."
Along the South Esplanade, there will be a range of local craft, charity and artisan stallholders to browse.
Completing St Peter Port's celebrations, people can make their way to Castle Cornet where Guernsey Arts has organised a showcase including a variety of music and performers showing extracts of one-act plays from 10am. This full programme can be found on Guernsey Arts social media channels.
