Plans for a parish-focused Liberation Day are well underway with local events already on offer in eight parishes.
Funding has been made available to all parishes who want to host community-based events as a part of making Liberation Day a whole-island celebration.
We would like to thank the many volunteers who have already worked hard to organise activities in true #GuernseyTogether style.
What: Castel Parish Liberation Celebration
Where: Field opposite Vazon Loophole tower
When: 12.30pm-4pm
More info: Family fun day with bouncy castles, tractors, livestock, food and, a variety of stalls including some offering entertainment. Also, a great vantage point for the cavalcade as it passes.
What: Family Fun Day
Where: Community Centre Field
When: 11.15am-4.30pm
More info: Multi-denominational service commences at 11.15am then from 12 – 4pm in the field opposite the parish hall.
Hog roast, children’s entertainment, bands and much more. Ration books including offers on food and games, are available from April 18th at the St Martins Parish Office.

More info: There will be something for the whole family, all free or at very low cost, making for an exciting and traditional, fun way to celebrate Liberation Day!
Bands, raffle and meat draw being held at the adjoining Venture Inn.
The Parade will pass along the main road, and it is our intention to provide a comfortable and safe viewing for the older residents or the Parish.
The Forest Parish Event will include 4 live bands including a head liner band from UK (famous old band!). Dance exhibitions from The Retro Rockers. Forest School PTA stalls and local homemade produce stalls. Outside food stalls. Massive bouncy castles. Classic cars in the Mallard car park. Triumph Motorcycle group from UK display. Raffle with big prizes. Meat Draw.

When: 11am – 9.30pm
More info: The Cavalcade is expected to pass by shortly after midday, so we encourage 11am arrival either by foot, pushang, bus or drop-offs.
Blue Badge Parking will be available.
All are welcome to join in the day’s events which provides all day Music, from the traditional 1940’s through to headline bands The Space Pirates of Rocquaine, Stoked and Buffalo Huddleston in the evening.
Family Entertainment will take place during the day, with inflatable fun for the Under 5’s, Climbing Wall for 5’s and up, tug of war, Sandcastle competition, beach games football and more to be announced. Kayaks will be available to hire.
Food and Drink are never far from our minds in the West! Styx Centre will be stocking the Tea Tent with some light catering and of course teas!
Candy floss is sure to be a favourite and the ice-cream van will be in its usual spot.
Chefan will be attending with their amazing Guernsey Beef Burgers, Vegan Burgers, Hot Dogs and Fries until 8 p.m.
The VraicEaters Tavern will host the music stage and licenced bar, alongside of course a Meat Draw!
A donation from the St. Peter’s event will be made to the Bailiff's Disaster Relief Fund to aid people in Ukraine.

What: St Andrews Liberation Day Family Celebration
Where: The Last Post/Les Buttes
When: 12pm-8pm outside 8pm-12pm inside
More info: The front stage will host music from the likes of Belles & Broomsticks and the Samba Band and the rear stage will host more upbeat music.
There will be children's entertainment including bouncy castles, road chalk drawing a Teddy Bear's Picnic, face painting and traditional games along with the use of The Last Post children's playground.
A milkshake & ice cream van will be in attendance.
Adults can enjoy Crown & Anchor, a BBQ and tea & coffee.
The whole area of Les Buttes and The Last Post make an ideal and safe viewing for the Cavalcade to pass through, the Douzaine are marshalling along the Rue Frairies throughout. There is parking (charitable donation) in the Les Carriaux Lane, entrance via Rue Frairies, this will be manned at all times.
The Last Post will provide food and refreshments throughout the day, music will be moved to inside after 8pm.
What: Liberation Day Party
Where: Revel Field, Parish Church
When: 11.30am-2.30pm, with the cavalcade expected at 12.40pm.
More info: Family fun and picnic including arts and crafts, tea and cake and live music from Bordeaux Blue.
People will be able to view the Island Wide Cavalcade from the event.

More info: The Cavalcade will be passing through Torteval at 12.10pm with the family lunch and fun day starting at 1.15pm
What: Tea party & Exhibition
Where: Vale Douzaine Room
When: Tea party - 11am-5pm Exhibition 6th-9th May
People will be able to view the Island Wide Cavalcade from the event.
The Church bells will be rung on Liberation Day, starting at 8.45am.
