The full timetable has been published for the free Liberation Day scheduled bus service, which will enable islanders to plan their journeys for the day of celebrations on 9 May, as the island celebrates the 80th anniversary of Liberation.  

Guernsey’s 80th Liberation Day will host a variety of music performances throughout the day on North Beach, Albert Pier and Castle Cornet.

Guernsey’s skies will roar with the sound of history this Liberation Day, as a fleet of Second World War aircraft present a spectacular display of wartime aviation alongside a display from the RAF Falcons parachute team.

Guernsey is set to welcome over 100 visiting military personnel as part of this year's Liberation Day parade.

Featuring two original motor vehicles loaned by the Guernsey Military Vehicle group, the display also contains information introducing visitors to the history of Guernsey’s Occupation and eventual Liberation from German forces.

The Liberation Trail – which has been created in collaboration with a wide range of cultural and heritage partners - invites islanders and visitors to immerse themselves in the stories of those who endured, resisted, and ultimately rejoiced as freedom returned to Guernsey’s shores.

Guernsey’s school children will be presented with a gift as the island marks the 80th anniversary of Liberation Day.  

Families celebrating Guernsey’s 80th Liberation Day can look forward to a packed schedule of fun at the Children's Zone on Crown Pier, thanks to the support of Waitrose. 

150 drones will illuminate the skies above St Peter Port, celebrating the island’s history, resilience and liberation through pictures. A stirring selection of music from five larger works, selected by Jean Owen, will be knitted together to accompany the drone images and heighten the experience.
