Liberation Day organisers have confirmed the 2025 Cavalcade will be the biggest yet, with over 250 vehicles expected to take part.  An enhanced Cavalcade is held every five years and the community is encouraged to get involved by building floats, decorating bikes and wheelchairs or joining as a pedestrian. 

The Committee for Education, Sport and Culture and the Association of Guernsey Charities are encouraging members of the public to register their interest in volunteering at the 80th Liberation Day celebrations. 

Planning for the 80th anniversary of Liberation Day commemorations and celebrations has continued to make excellent progress over this year, with a full programme of events, activities and entertainment for all ages taking shape.

St. Peter’s Parish will again be hosting a fantastic Community Liberation Day celebration event on Thursday 9th May 2024 on L’Eree Common and Beach.

Guernsey Arts will once again be working alongside Guernsey Museums to fill Castle Cornet with music, activities and entertainment to commemorate and celebrate the 79th anniversary of Guernsey's liberation.

The route for this year's highly anticipated cavalcade has been confirmed, with more than 100 military vehicles, classic cars and tractors taking part.

Once again this Liberation Day, more than 800 islanders living in residential homes or attending Age Concern groups across the island will receive Liberation Day themed hampers.
